According to researchers this instrument was founded by the ‘Shembe’, the Nazareth Baptist Church. Most followers are based in KwaZulu-Natal (Durban). Recently, it had raised questions of ownership, as there is another company Masincedane Sport which oppose the Shembe’s. The Shembe’s calls it “imbomu”. They say they copied the design from a trumpet which is little bit heavier compared to their two to three meters long ‘imbomu’ and made of metal. The vuvuzela (Masincedane’s version) is made of a plastic, and very light in weight. Whenever you are on a soccer stadium full with South African supporters, you may feel the spirit of soccer lovers through the vuvuzela rhythms.
Ivuvuzela, uphawu lokubungaza umdlalo webhola eNingizimu Afrika. Ukulalela umsindo owenziwa yivuvuzela kuyakhombisa ukuthi ususendaweni yabathandi bomdlalo. Kuningi okushiwoyo ngomuntu ongumnikazi wevuvuzela, ngoba nabebandla lakwaShembe (Nazareth Baptist Church) bathi yibona abayenza kuqala, ngoba bebona icilongo kodwa ngoba lona lalinesisindo, benza okulula abazokwazi ukukuphatha.
