Introducing Nkosikhona

The work that Nkosikhona Duma carries out as a fieldworker for the Ulwazi Programme is the perfect extension of his academic studies, which focus on communication and culture. Nkosikhona holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences, with majors in Community Development and Media and Cultural Studies, and is currently enrolled as a BSc Honours student in the Culture, Communication and Media Society at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Rather appropriately, Nkosikhona cites community development and media communications as his areas of passion.

Between 2014 and 2015, Nkosikhona served as an international youth ambassador, representing South Africa in Brazil under the auspices of Rotary International. As an active member of the KZN chapter of InkuluFreeHeid, a youth-led social justice movement, Nkosikhona embodies the ideals of 21st century young African professionals, who recognise the importance of having a diverse set of skills, and working hard while practising the principles of ubuntu.
