This Wednesday marks the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated on the 30th January 1948. Gandhi, who lived in Durban for many years, believed that in order to be truly liberated, a person must recognise the significance and importance of their own language and culture.
In line with this thinking this Wednesday the Gandhi Development Trust will be launching a language campaign, aimed at encouraging people in KwaZulu-Natal to learn isiZulu. The launch will take place on Wednesday the 30th January at 12h00 at the Phoenix Youth Centre in Whetstone.
