My great grandfather was Nongangada Nene and my great grandmother was MaNdlela. They had cows, goats, dogs and chickens which Nongangada looked after because he was unemployed. They stayed in Ladysmith, at the bottom of Nkuthu Mountain eMachibini. And MaNdlela was a housewife. They got married in 1916. Nongangada and MaNdlela had five children my grandfather Msuthu Elias and his siblings. Msuthu was born in Escourt in 1924. But when he was old he moved to his family home in Ladysmith. He worked at Metal Box in Durban near Montclair. My grandfather passed away in 1986.
My grandmother Jabulile Winnie “MaMsibi” Nene was born in Ladysmith working for a farmer for 6 months and learning for 6, people were saying Kwasthupha and she was a clever woman. My grandmother’s mother was Nomlilo Julia ‘MaKhoza’ Msibi. MaMsibi passed away in the year on the 20th of January 2007. Winnie and Msuthu got married in 1948 and they were blessed with six children my mother Bongiwe, Aunt Buyile, Uncle Ray, Uncle Bafana, Aunt Ntombenhle, and Aunt Ntombizodwa and my mother is the last born from her family. My mother went to school at eNkuthu Combined School in Ladysmith and after that she came to Durban and attended KwaMgaga High School which is located in UMlazi K section that was in 1989 and she finished high school and stayed home for a while. On the 14th of February 1995 I was born, at Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital. And my mother in 1997 continued with her studies at Swinton College.
My Family History (Nene Madlokovu, Sthenjwa, Ntusi, Mngadi etc. )

My grandmother by Nomlilo Julia “Makhoza” Msibi. My grandmother and my grandfather had 6 children: my mother and 3 aunts and 2 uncles. The first born is Buyile, she was born in 1954, she was learning at Nkuthu Combined School which starts from grade R to grade 7, the school is located at Ladysmith at Nkuthu, thereafter she came and learned at Vukuzakhe High School. She was staying at UMlazi at home which is at J section. When she went to school she travelled with the train. At that time the train was cost half a cent single from UMlazi to Lindokuhle. She finished there and went to Cape Town for Nursing. She graduated there in Cape Town and the proper graduation was at Gauteng in Wits University. Jabulile was there to shoot with her daughter the first born Buyile. Buyile has 2 children Thenjiwe and Mzwandile. They both live at Johannesburg. Buyile and his children are still alive and her children live in Johannesburg.
The second born is Bafana my uncle, he was born in 1957, he grew up at Nkuthu, he loved to go and hunt animals with his dogs Rex and Zyamlandela. He was learning at Nkuthu Combined School, he finished there at Nkuthu he did not finish school because of some certain reason. He came and stayed at UMlazi, he got a job at Metal Box his father got it for him. He got another job at Nquthu there he got a girlfriend there Nonkululeko they have 3 children, my cousins Zamathenjwa, Anele and Bhekamathenjwa. They got married in 1999. They are still alive.
The third born is Ntombenhle she was born at Ladysmith Hospital, when she was young she feared the chicken but she loves to eat chicken. She was learning at Nkuthu Combined School, she was clever, she got many certificates at Nkuthu Combined School, she finished there and went to learn at EMhlwaneni high school – that school is located at Ladysmith at EMgazini she went there for 2 years. She came and learned at KwaMgaga High School at UMlazi. She finished there at KwaMgaga. She has a child Mpumelelo, her child is now 20. They both stay at Johannesburg.
The fourth born is Ntombizodwa she was learning at Nkuthu Combined School and finished at Zwelibanzi high school. She has 1 child Sphesihle. He is 19 years old. My uncle is disabled he can’t walk using his legs because his legs are not working; he is using crutches to help. He went to learn at Tholiso Combined School there at UMlazi. He fished and learned at Vukuzakhe High School. He got a bursary and went to learn at the University of Wits at Gauteng province. He got a job and works at Eskom. He got married in 2009/November with Thulisile “MaMpanza” Nene.
The last born is my mother Bongiwe Purity Nene and she was learning at Nkuthu Combined School. And finished and gwent to KwaMgaga High School, she finished there and she was born at Ladysmith in 1973/03/16. In 1995 I was born and it was 14/02/95 the time was 20:50 I was born and my father is Bongani Maphumulo. And I started to learn at kwaMzamo Daycare Centre, then I went to Nkoskhona Pre-school. I finished and went to Zandile Primary School, there I’ve got certificates for being clean, numeracy, LLC2 and life skills. From grade 1 to grade 3 I finished in grade 4. Then I went to Ndongeni Senior then I came to Menzi High School.
