The eThekwini Municipality hosts an annual awards evening, Living Legends, to honour those residents of eThekwini who have made extraordinary contributions to our society. Previous recipients include Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s, Joseph Shabalala; former leader of the South African Domestic Workers’ Association, Mary Mkhwanazi; and Jackie Branfield, founder of Operation Bobbi Bear, a foundation that assists children who are victims of sexual assault.
