With funding from the Goethe Institut, we ran a pilot Schools Project in 2011/2012. The project was rolled out to township and rural schools in a bid to create opportunities to enhance ICT skills amongst youngsters and generate interest in their own history and culture.
The Schools Project was run at four township and rural schools with computer laboratories – at two schools during the second semester of 2011 and two schools during the first semester of 2012. The pilot project was run with a practical task-based section and an online e-learning component.
The project came to an end at Sibusisiwe High School this week, with the participating students writing an online test on what they had learnt over the past two months.
