Be a Story Bosso!

National reading campaign, Nal’ibali, has launched its annual multilingual storytelling talent search, Story Bosso! Nal’ibali believes that a well-established culture of reading can be a real game-changer for education in South Africa, with literacy skills being a strong predictor of future academic success in all subjects.

With this in mind, Story Bosso is aimed at reawakening a love of storytelling and reading! Stories must be submitted via an audio or video clip, and for children who don’t have the facilities to upload their stories themselves, Nal’ibali offer a list of venues where they will record children’s stories on their behalf. Most importantly the competition, which offers a R5000 cash prize, and the opportunity to see your story printed as a book, allows submissions in all eleven official languages. Go team Nal’ibali!

So if you want to be a Story Bosso then play the Hero’s board game which will show you how to build a story.
