KumaZulu, inkolelo ngabaphansi (amadlozi or abaphansi) ibilokhu iqinile njalo. Kunemimoya yabangasekho. AmaZulu ayakubona ukuba khona komuntu ophakeme kunabo bonke. UMvelinqangi (One Who Came First) or uNkulunkulu (Very Big One) nguNkulunkulu ngoba uvele kuqala. Lomuntu ophakeme ukude kakhulu nezimpilo zabantu futhi akakaze abonwe yinoma ngubani. Ngakho-ke ayikho imikhosi eyake yenziwa eMvelinqangi. Abantu abangamaZulu bakholelwa ekutheni imimoya yabafileyo iyaxhumana phakathi koMvelinqangi nabantu emhlabeni.
Ubudlelwano
Ngokuphikisana nokulwa kwabo okwaziwayo, amaZulu angabantu abafudumele futhi abanokuthula ezingeni lomuntu ngamunye. Ubuntu (ngokwezwi nezwi, “ubuntu,” “isimilo esihle,” “isimo esihle”) kwakha impilo yansuku zonke yabantu abangamaZulu. Lokhu kuvela embonweni wokuthi umuntu uphakeme kakhulu kuzo zonke izinhlobo zezinto eziphilayo. Kunamakhulu ezaga abhalwe ngobuntu. Lezi zaga ziphathelene nokuphathwa kwabantu, ukuziphatha okuhle nokubi, ukuziqhenya, ukungabongi, imikhuba emibi, ukwehla kokuziphatha, ukuzidla, unya, inkani, ukuzenzisa, ukusiza abanye, njalonjalo.
U“Sawubona” ivamise ukubingelela abantu ongabazi, kepha ukubingelela okusemthethweni kufaneleke kakhulu kulabo abajwayelene. Ukubingelela okusemthethweni kuhlanganisa ukuxhawula kathathu, ngenkathi ubuza ngenhlalakahle yomuntu nobudlelwano bakhe (How are you? Ninjani?). Ukuthatha ikhefu kufaka phakathi indinganiso ejwayelekile ethi “Sala / Nisale kahle” (Remain well), bese omunye umuntu aphendule ngokuthi, “Uhambe / Nihambe kahle” (Go well). Kuwusiko ukuthi abancane bephathise imikhonzo kwabancane lapho behlangana nabadala.
Impilo Yemindeni
Igama lesiZulu lomndeni (family) lifaka phakathi bonke abantu abahlala emakhaya abahlobene, kungaba ngegazi, ngomshado, noma ngokutholwa. Iningi lemizi yasemakhaya inemindeni eyandisiwe, abafowabo namakhosikazi abo, odadewabo abangashadile, izingane, abazali, nogogo nomkhulu bonke bahlala ndawonye ekhaya elilodwa. Njengesibonakaliso senhlonipho, abazali nabadala ababizwa ngamagama abo okungenani babizwa ngezibongo zabo.
Umndeni wakwaZulu inzalabantu; indoda iyinhloko yomndeni kanye negunya. Akujwayelekile ukuthi izinsizwa zibe nezintombi eziningi njengoba zifuna. Uma bekwazi ukuyikhokhela, bangathatha abafazi abangaphezu koyedwa lapho bethatha isinqumo sokushada. Ngokwesiko, abesifazane kwakungafanele baphume bayosebenza, ngoba kwakuwumsebenzi webesilisa. Esikhathini samanje isimo sabesifazane abangamaZulu siya ngokuya sikhula kancane njengoba abesifazane abaningi bethola imfundo.
