Anyone who’s been lucky enough to attend one of the fabulous Saturday afternoon Rainbow sessions will know the power of the Rainbow train! There’s nothing quite like dancing through the aisles of the restaurant to the rhythmic beats of African drums – the place literally heaves!
The restaurant, which has a very important place in South Africa’s struggle history, has been featuring local African artists since 1981, and is still going strong today. With the likes of the late (and great!) Busi Mhlongo, Pops Mohamed and Ladysmith Black Mambazo gracing the Rainbow’s intimate stage, this relatively unassuming jazz club has been the site of many a historic concert.
