Moses Mabhida

Last month we featured Moses Mabhida, trade union activist and namesake of Durban’s fantastic soccer stadium, as part of our No Longer at This Address series. If you found the story interesting then you should be taking a trip down to the stadium tomorrow to visit an exhibition that looks at the life and times of this great man. In addition to a fairly detailed account of his life (including physical examples, such as his briefcase, clothes, and ID docs), the exhibition also provides great context, by examining what was happening in South Africa at the time that Mabhida was politically active.

The exhibition opens on Saturday as part of the stadium’s five year birthday celebrations, and will remain open until January – but with R25 SkyCar rides (for one day only!), and loads of other discounts, it’s probably worth making a plan to pop past tomorrow!
