Learn A Second Language – for Free!

The world is becoming smaller and smaller, with internet access meaning that you no longer need to get on a plane to speak to people from the other side of the world. Most people would love to be able to speak a second language as it opens ups so many doors, but often the cost of language courses is prohibitive, or access to facilities difficult. Enter the new mobile app, Duolingo, which allows you to learn a variety of foreign languages at no cost (aside from the cost of your data of course), in a fun and easy format!

At the moment the app offers 28 different languages, including Swahili, which is still in its beta phase. As more users show interest in other African languages, hopefully the app will grow to accommodate other languages, including (holding thumbs!) isiZulu, which is still the most widely spoken language in South Africa.
