Last Minute Christmas Shopping!

South African History Online (SAHO) is an amazing institution. Established  in 2000 as a means of addressing the biased way in which South Africa’s history and heritage has been represented historically in our educational and cultural institutions, this online ‘encyclopedia’ now contains an impressive collection of data on South Africa and the broader African continent. SAHO also extends it’s reach into education, working closely with the Department of Basic Education in developing teaching resources for schools, as well as partnering with the Department on the Chief Albert Luthuli Young Historians Oral History Project, now a part of the Department’s annual schools programme.

And in addition to all of that SAHO also runs a small online shop where they sell the most incredible books! Many of the books for sale have been published by SAHO themselves, but they also retail books put out by other academic publishers, as well as the odd music CD. At the moment the shop is offering a massive 50% discount on all their SAHO publications, as well as providing free delivery to people in Cape Town. Shipping can be arranged for other parts of the country as well, so if you’re still at a loss as to what to buy that certain someone special for Christmas, maybe this is your answer! It might cost you a bit to courier (Christmas is just days away!), but if you look at what’s on offer you’ll realise it’s well worth the money!
