Mrs Mthembu from Umbumbulu
Mrs Mthembu is a woman from Umbumbulu. She started crafting after the death of her husband to make ends meet since her children were still very young. She decided to start a small business using plants (date palm tree) and (umthala) grass that she collects around her area. She makes floor mats, fruit baskets, washing baskets and vases for decoration. She sells her crafts to her community. She is able to take her children and grandchildren to school with the money that she makes.
