A Tribute to SA Musical Heritage

The BAT Centre in Durban is currently playing host to ‘September Jive – A Tribute to SA Musical Heritage’. Running from the 3rd to the 21st February, the programme comprises an exhibition of more than 150 South African designed LP covers, as well as panel discussions, screenings and masterclasses aimed at promoting South African musical heritage from a musicological, historical and visual perspective. And of course it’s all about the music, so expect some fabulous live performances thrown into the mix as well!

This week’s line-up includes a presentation from renowned photographer, Dr Peter Magubane, who will be showing photographs from his highly acclaimed jazz archive. The Durban Centre for Photography will also be presenting its portfolio of contemporary jazz photography, entitled Photography is Jazz with a Camera.

All events will be held at the BAT Centre, and are free of charge and open to the public.
