The 2023 Durban International Book Fair

The Durban International Book Fair  will run from 9 to 13 August 2023 at the Globe, Suncoast. There is no charge to attend the event. It features a diverse range of writers who focus on a broad spectrum of literary genres – from fiction to non-fiction, academic writing to poetry. The fair provides a space for literary enthusiasts to engage with their favourite writers and learn from them. It features panel discussions, workshops, and book launches. See the programme below:

“The Book and Beyond” is the exciting and thought-provoking theme for the 2023 Durban International Book Fair. This theme invites us to explore the limitless possibilities of literature and its potential to inspire us to transcend our current realities. We are encouraged to look beyond the pages of a book and explore how literature can impact our lives, our communities, and the world around us. Whether we are reading for pleasure or for educational purposes, this theme reminds us that literature has the power to take us on incredible journeys and to expand our perspectives on the world. It promises to be an enlightening and enriching experience for all literature enthusiasts, and a celebration of the transformative power of books, and beyond.

The Fair is an inclusive event that will provide a platform to 200 writers in 150 sessions over five days. It will include workshops on film-making and radio, as well as all aspects of publishing (e.g book cover design, writing, editing, sales and marketing). We hope that this celebration of creativity will result in a surge of new thoughts, ideas and collaborations.

See you there!
