Jerry’s Stories: September

Questions about the meanings of people’s dreams, and the histories behind clan names are far and away the most popular topics on Ulwazi. Dreams are always fascinating, but it’s also nice to know that people are wanting to stay connected to their personal family stories – as the world moves forward, we tend to leave tradition behind, forgetting where we come from. So it’s really encouraging to hear that people are making use of modern technology to stay connected to their pasts. Facebook groups, connecting clan members with each other, are popping up all over the place, with regular meetings being held where people can share their family stories. Jerry, who is part of the Zuma clan, belongs to a group that meets a few times a year to do just that.
