Igama elithi isaga lisho into enemiqondo noma izincazelo eziningi. Isaga siyasetshenziswa ukuchaza into ewumhlola, siphinde zichaze into engajwayelekile ngesikhathi esithile. Izaga futhi ziyasetshenziswa uma kubhungwa noma kulotshwa, zisetshenziselwa ukunonisa inkulumo kanye nobugagu bokwendlalela inkulumo, kanti futhi ziyasetshenziswa ukusonga, ukuxwayisa kanye nokululeka umuntu.

Izaga kucikozwa ngazo kakhulu okutshengisa ubuhlakani benkulumo okunye nokungabeki mbaba amagama alumelayo kuloyo owehlelwe okuthile, futhi ziyasetshenziselwa ukweluleka kanye nokwakha umuntu kanye nokulaya.

Izaga bezisetshenziswa kakhulu abantu abadala, isikhathi esiningi babezisebenzisela ukulaya umuntu, ngoba kwakwaziwa ukuthi umuntu omdala akaphikiswa kulokhu akushoyo ngisho ungahambisani nakho.

Lana kulotshwe izaga ezimbalwa kanye nezincazelo zazi, ngokuhlukana kwazo. Lezi zaga zidle ngokunona, ubunono bazo benza zibe noju.

Brief Overview

Izaga are proverbs in English which are used for wise sayings and expressions that are widely used. They state basic, general truths and give advice and/or a warning. Like in any culture, proverbs are dominant in Zulu language practice, as one can highlight that proverbs have been often been utilised by older people who have seen things better than the young adults.
