Durban Living Legend-Rev BK Dludla
Reverend B K Dludla was born in Melmoth in 1926. He moved to Durban where he was ordained to the Christian ministry in 1955. He was the first president of the Soldiers of Christ Movement and together with the late Rev. Wing they formulated the Constitution of the U.C.C.S.A. During the apartheid era Rev. Dludla provided shelter for political activists while his church was used as a cell for political meetings. He was one of the members of the South African Council of Churches who made presentations to the then President of South Africa, Mr. P.W. Botha regarding the state of affairs. As self-appointed spokesperson of the SACC he demanded the release of Nelson Mandela. Currently, he is helping less fortunate children by funding their education.
